The Gala Angling Association offer Brown Trout and Grayling fishing on approximately 14 miles of the River Tweed near Galashiels. The Association also controls the fishing on the lower Gala Water as it flows through Galashiels and a small section at the bottom of the River Ettrick. The Brown Trout fishing season runs from 1st April to 30th September. The winter Grayling fishing season runs from 1st December to 31st January, although not all of the Associations water is open for winter Grayling fishing.
