River Tweed Ladies Days

The Tweed Foundation are pleased to announce a series of Ladies Fishing Days this summer for Atlantic Salmon and Seatrout across the River Tweed. Starting on Monday, June 24th, these events are designed to cater to women of all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned anglers.

Anne Woodcock, the event organiser, says,  “The River Tweed Ladies Charity Days are here to welcome anglers of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned experts. Celebrating and promoting the participation of women in fly fishing, these events provide a supportive environment for connection, learning, and mutual encouragement”

  • Proceeds from the days will be donated to the Tweed Foundation, funding initiatives such as TweedStart, Go Wild For Fish, and Guardians of Tweed.

Event Highlights

Time: The days begin at 9:00 AM and include coffee breaks (plus chocolate) and lunch is included on events marked***.

  • Location: Enjoy fishing for Atlantic Salmon and Seatrout on the renowned River Tweed. 

  • Equipment such as rods, lifevests can be supplied, and waders are available for hire from Fin & Game or Borders Gunroom.

  • Skill Levels: Suitable for beginners or those looking to refine their fly fishing skills.

Mark French, owner of Boathouse and Canny Beat, shares, "We would like to extend a warm welcome to all those attending the Ladies Days in aid of The Tweed Foundation. Teeming with wildlife and birdlife, each beat is set within a particularly tranquil and beautiful stretch of the river Tweed. Hopefully, it will be a fruitful and enjoyable experience for all those involved.”

Monday, June 24th Lower Birgham Beat, between Coldstream and Kelso.

Friday, 5th July Tweedswood Beat, near St Boswells and Melrose.

Saturday, 6th July Carham Beat, between Kelso and Coldstream.

Friday, 12th July Boathouse & Canny Beat, at Norham.***

Friday 16th August Dryburgh Upper.***

Friday 27th September Horsbrugh.

October Kailzie - river fishing and still water fishing. Date TBC
