The Tweed Foundation is inviting supporters, businesses, estates and members of the river community to help support this year’s Annual Fundraising Auction by donating auction lots, experiences and sponsorship.
Launching this autumn, the online auction raises vital funds to support the Tweed Foundation’s work protecting the River Tweed, its iconic Atlantic salmon and the wider river environment across the catchment.
This year, donors will also have the opportunity to direct their support towards specific areas of the Foundation’s work, including river conservation, habitat restoration, scientific monitoring and research, and TweedStart, the Foundation’s education and angling programme for young people.
Funds raised through the auction help support fish population monitoring, practical conservation projects, education initiatives and community engagement activities across the Tweed catchment.
The Tweed Foundation is now looking for a variety of auction lots, including salmon fishing days, sporting opportunities, accommodation stays, hospitality experiences, country clothing, art, books, food and drink hampers, and unique river-related experiences.
Jamie Stewart, Director of the Tweed Foundation said:
“Our annual auction has become an important way of supporting the Foundation’s work, and we are hugely grateful to everyone who contributes lots, bids and helps spread the word. Every donation, large or small, helps support the future of the River Tweed and its wildlife.”
Businesses and organisations interested in sponsorship opportunities or donating prizes are encouraged to get involved.
