Bird dietary analysis

Looking at the skeletal remains in the stomachs of cormorants and goosanders can provide a better understanding of the potential impact of these predators on local fish populations.

For more background information and results on all our fish eating bird research, check out our storymap

The Tweed Foundation are looking for volunteers to help with our bird dietary analysis. If you have a strong constitution you could help with the dissection. If you have good fine motor skills and eyesight you could help with sorting and measuring bones. Glasses are allowed. No previous skills are necessary.

Please get in touch with our volunteer coordinator, Erica Chapman, at echapman@tweedfoundation.org.uk, if you are interested in helping with either stage of the process.
