Tree Planting

On top of combating climate change and biodiversity loss, riparian tree planting helps improve the health of rivers and streams. For example, trees shade rivers, keeping them cool, and provide leaf litter, which feeds a river’s nutrient cycle.

Tree planting locations will vary from year to year across the catchment based on habitat requirements.

Tree planting is usually conducted from November until early spring.

Tree planting is great for corporate groups or for individuals to get involved with their community and meet other likeminded people.

We would love your help planting trees. Please get in touch with our volunteer coordinator, Erica, at echapman@tweedfoundation.org.uk if you would like to get involved.
